He is currently writing a book about areas of cultural changes that the church in the West is facing, and how best to navigate this space.

We will gather from different churches with different backgrounds from all around New Zealand in Auckland. We aim to help to grow churches in missional leadership as we work to see the gospel of Jesus bear fruit throughout New Zealand with churches growing and multiplying in His power.

Join us for a time of encouragement, great teaching and practical workshops

Together…

We will be encouraged by the stories of how God has been at work in the different denominations

We will open God’s word to be reminded and refocused on our task of taking the gospel to the nations

We will learn from one another how theologically driven practice has seen gospel growth

We will dream about, and pray for God to pour out his mercy in Aotearoa New Zealand.

Connect

Connect with church planters, trainers, and leaders from across denominations, around Aotearoa New Zealand.

Unpack

Unpack the scriptures with great teaching from God’s Word.

Engage

Engage with theologically driven, practical seminars on a range of topics from Kiwi church planters and leaders.

Assess

Assess yourself – how can you be used for the growth of the kingdom through church planting?

In the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who will judge the living and the dead, and in view of his appearing and his kingdom, I give you this charge: Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encouraged—with great patience and careful instruction.

Speakers

Our Kiwi speakers will be sharing some of the lessons carved out in the trenches of growing healthy churches and seeing them multiply, and are joined by Stephen McAlpine.

Stephen McAlpine

Our keynote speaker this year is Stephen McApline

Stephen’s work life has a local and a national focus.  He is a pastor of Providence Church in Perth, a church he and his wife planted, and he is a National Communicator for Third Space, a project of City Bible Forum.  His working life began in journalism following tertiary studies at Curtin University.  Life took a detour into youth ministry prior to theological study. Since then he has pastored in a number of churches, including two church plants.  He writes extensively for a variety of theological and cultural journals, and blogs at stephenmcalpine.com.  Stephen has been a visiting lecturer in theological colleges around Australia, focussing on the areas of cultural changes that the church in the West is facing, and how best to navigate this space.  He is currently writing a book on this subject, and speaks at a range of Christian organisations including church planting groups, national school chaplaincy programs, and Christian secondary education systems.  His primary aim is to enable Christians to navigate the cultural moment with both confidence and joy, and to encourage those who are not Christian to investigate why the claims of Jesus are fulfilling intellectually, emotionally and spiritually. Stephen’s wife is a clinical psychologist and together they have a commitment to helping an uncertain and broken community find meaning and purpose.”

Rowan Hilsden

Rowan is the senior pastor of Auckland Ev Church and a Director of Multiply who describes himself as an ugly sinner, with an awesome saviour. His particular passion is to see people totally captivated by Jesus, deeply grounded in the gospel, and growing in their love and knowledge of the true and living God. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree (Graphic Design), and a Bachelor of Divinity degree from Moore Theological College in Sydney. Before moving to Auckland to start Auckland Ev Church, Rowan has worked as a photographer, graphic designer and network administrator; run his own business in software development, and he was a university chaplain and an ordained Anglican minister in a large multicultural church in Sydney.

Pray also for me, that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should.
