Shaun thought the idea that Jesus actually did rise from the dead was highly unlikely. Then he was invited to a course about Jesus run by Auckland Evangelical Church which was started in 2012. Auckland Ev meets together in Event Cinemas at Westfield St Lukes and in the Auckland University student bar. They are a bunch of people, convinced they’re not perfect, captivated by the historical Jesus, excited about the future He offers, and eager to authentically share this hope with Auckland.

Jose from Chile went to Cornerstone, a church plant in a pub, and heard about Jesus.

Cornerstone met publicly for the first time in 2008, with a vision for reaching the students and staff of the University of Canterbury. In 2013 a second congregation commenced to reach the community centered on Riccarton.
