Advance | Standing Firm to the End is the national conference for the Multiply network. This year we are gathering from different churches with different backgrounds from all around New Zealand in one location – Auckland. The purpose of the conference is to grow churches in missional leadership as we work to see the gospel of Jesus bear fruit throughout New Zealand with churches growing and multiplying in His power.

Speakers
Our Kiwi speakers will be sharing some of the lessons carved out in the trenches of growing healthy churches and seeing them multiply, and are joined by Paul Dale and Oscar Muriu.
Paul Dale
Our keynote speaker this year is Paul Dale, senior pastor of Church by the Bridge in Sydney. Church by the Bridge started in 2004 with 10 people and a blank sheet of paper, and under God is now a church in 7 locations.
God’s kindness and grace has been extraordinarily evident at Church by the Bridge. Seeing people come to faith, seeing people grow in their faith, seeing people share burdens and joys. Church by the Bridge has preached through over two-thirds of the Bible, as well as addressing topical issues. In everything, they have sought to be a church that ‘lives for Jesus and loves like Jesus’.
Simon Gill
Simon, along with his wife Jenny are the planters and lead pastors of The Street Church East which started in February 2018 on the Mirimar Peninsula in Wellington. The Street Church are prayerfully seeking to reach 4500 people with the new of Jesus over five years, and to be planting locations in the Wellington area to see that happen.
Rowan Hilsden
Rowan is the senior pastor of Auckland Ev Church and a Director of Multiply who describes himself as an ugly sinner, with an awesome saviour. His particular passion is to see people totally captivated by Jesus, deeply grounded in the gospel, and growing in their love and knowledge of the true and living God. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree (Graphic Design), and a Bachelor of Divinity degree from Moore Theological College in Sydney. Before moving to Auckland to start Auckland Ev Church, Rowan has worked as a photographer, graphic designer and network administrator; run his own business in software development, and he was a university chaplain and an ordained Anglican minister in a large multicultural church in Sydney.
Chloë Wood
Chloë is finishing a two year apprenticeship at Cornerstone in Christchurch. She moved to Christchurch in 2010 to study chemical and process engineering and started coming along to Campus Church that year. Though initially hooked by the legendary Campus Church hot chocolates, after several months she found herself even more hooked on hearing from God’s Word each week.
Having completed her studies and spent a couple of years working in the IT industry, Chloë has joined the staff team as a Ministry Apprentice. Chloë delights in having the opportunity to read the bible with a variety of people in a range of different contexts during the week. The more time she spends reflecting on the saving work of Jesus on the cross, the more excited she gets about seeing lives transformed by this very good news.
Chloë is married to Kadin and they are passionate about great coffee and all things foodie.
Geoff Macpherson
Geoff is married to Marie (Ngati Porou) and currently serves as the pastor at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Takanini, Auckland. He has also served with the Grace Presbyterian Churches as the pastor for Grace Presbyterian Church in Christchurch, and as a church planter with Grace Church (Te Whare Atawhai) in Gisborne. Geoff has studied at the University of Auckland, Grace Theological College, Birmingham Theological Seminary (USA), and currently serves as the Principal of Grace Theological College, a New Zealand non-denominational, evangelical and reformed college committed to training and equipping men and women for service in the church and Kingdom of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Oscar Muriu
Since 1991 Oscar has served as the senior pastor of the Nairobi Chapel and now as leader of the Nairobi Chapel Movement of Churches. Starting with a congregation of 40, his network of over 100 churches sees more than 15 000 worshippers gathering weekly.
Following a passionate conviction to raise up and develop a legacy of leaders, Nairobi Chapel has trained more than 500 interns. Oscar’s passion is to see the African church rise up and take its place within the global community of faith. A thriving mission-focused congregation, Nairobi Chapel operates several social justice ministries and has a vision to plant over 300 churches in Africa and world-wide.
Peter & Margaret Reynolds
We have been married for nearly 40 years and for the last 30 years have been involved in church planting and pastoral ministry in South Auckland. Unresolved conflict paralyses our marriage and brings discouragement and even despair, robbing our marriage and ministry of joy. At the Multiply Advance Conference, we have been asked to take the topics of money, sex, and children. Our aim is to discuss with you how to can begin resolving conflict in these three areas, so our marriages can continue to grow and reflect more closely the marriage Jesus Christ has with his church.
Darryl Ward
Darryl and his family moved from Australia in 2010 to join The Anchor Church team and serve as pastor. Darryl is married to Stella and they have four adult children, Jake, Elijah (engaged to Karla), Mia and Eyvette (not forgetting their two Border Collies, Jasper and Jedi).
Darryl became a Christian in 1994 at 34 years of age in Adelaide. After serving in a variety of roles in the local church, Darryl and his family moved to Victoria in 2004 to serve with Mobile Mission Maintenance (MMM) Australia in the International Projects office. In 2007 Darryl (and the family) moved back to Adelaide to take up a role as Community and Outreach Pastor at Woodcroft Christian Centre while completing a BMin at Adelaide College of Ministries.

SEMINARS
We have a wonderful breadth and depth in our conference seminars where we’ll be sharing the lessons learned in the trenches of gospel ministry and church planting. We are excited to be working with leaders and church planters from a variety of denominations all around NZ, as well as other countries. Our prayer is that you will gather with us and that these lessons and ideas would cross-pollinate and be used for the task of seeing the gospel advance. Our desire is for healthy ministry to be strengthened in existing churches and for more churches to start that love Jesus and hold out the hope of life in Him.
