Multiply will go ahead with hubs in Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin. Those in Auckland are invited to attend online.
Follow the links below to register. We will then contact you with details about how the hub you choose to attend is going to run, including timings and catering options.

We are continuing to refine the program to be suitable for those that can meet together, and those who join in online.

We will post further details as they become available.

19 August 2020 – Advance Conference Update

The Multiply directors met yesterday to pray and think through the next step for our conference (28-29 August). As you would appreciate, we needed to adjust our plans to work with the current uncertainty.

Multiply is going ahead with the Challenge Conference and Advance Conference | Raised Forever with hubs in the main centres.

We will run hubs in AucklandWellingtonChristchurch and Dunedin. (Register for your city below).

We will rework the program to take into account the use of video, but by gathering in cohorts at the hubs, it means that you will still be able to spend time discussing the talks and hanging out with others.

Multiply has reduced the ticket prices because a significant cost component is venue hire and catering. Now you can register for the Challenge Apprenticeship Day for $25 and Advance Conference for $35.

If you have already registered and paid full fees, we will be in touch to discuss your options and reimbursement.

We are also keen to talk with you if you live outside of one of these main centres but would like to get in on the action. We want to help you set up a hub in your town, pleases send us an email if you are interested. You can also register your details here, and we will contact you if a hub is set up in your region.

Together…

We will see again that the resurrection of the Lord stands at the centre of our ministry

We will be refocused on going forward in Christ’s power, not our own strength

We will learn from one another how theologically driven practice has seen Gospel growth

We will dream about, and pray that God would pour out his Spirit on Aotearoa

Keynote Speaker

Rory Shiner

Rory was born and raised in Albany, Western Australia. He studied English and Anthropology at university and, as a consequence, mainly worked in cafes and kebab shops. He is married to Susan and they have four boys.

He studied theology at Moore College, and he also has a PhD in Australian church history from Macquarie University. He maintains an ongoing interest in the place of religion in Australia, the nature of secular culture, and how best to reach our context with the message of Jesus.

He enjoys writing, and has written books on Union with Christ and the resurrection of Jesus.

Rory serves as the senior pastor of Providence City Church, in Perth, where he has overall responsibility for the vision and direction of the church. He also has a small role providing some coaching and support for other church leaders in the Prov Network.

Seminars

We have a wonderful breadth and depth in our conference seminars where we’ll be sharing the lessons learned in the trenches of gospel ministry and church planting. We are excited to be working with church planters and leaders from a variety of denominations all around NZ, as well as other countries. Our prayer is that you will gather with us, and that these lessons and ideas would cross-pollinate and be used for the task of seeing the gospel advance. Our desire is for more churches to start that love Jesus and hold out the hope of life in Him.

Five Dysfunctions of a Team

Neal Vinson

Since the first time you engaged in any team sport as a child, you probably learned this truth: teamwork can be hard. Sometimes one kid wants to have the ball all to himself, and other times players disagree on responsibilities. Even for adults working together is difficult. Politics, ego, and mistrust get in the way of building a well-performing team. An efficient team truly is greater than the sum of its parts, especially in the area of Christian ministry. Exceptional teamwork can provide a church or ministry team with an opportunity to both share the gospel and display the gospel as it maximizes its impact in its community. The Five Dysfunctions of a Team is a powerful tool for anyone who works on a team. This process identifies five dysfunctions that hinder teams from performing at their best and provides useful strategies to overcome them. I’m convinced that any team who learns how to avoid these dysfunctions will be amazing at what they do.

“End of life Choice Bill”, how do we respond as Christians?

Melissa Collier

On Saturday 17th October, New Zealanders will go to their polling stations to not only choose the next government but to also vote on a referendum question: ‘I support/ do not support the End of Life Choice Act 2019 coming into force.’ In the Act, ‘assisted dying’ means a person’s doctor or nurse practitioner giving them medication to relieve their suffering by bringing on death; or the taking of medication by the person to relieve their suffering by bringing on death. In the Act, ‘medication’ means a lethal dose of medicine used for assisted dying. In this seminar we hear from Dr. Melissa Collier, a senior radiation oncologist and clinical lecturer at Otago Medical School, talk through the implications of the proposed legislative change as both a doctor who cares for people with terminal cancer, but also as a follower of Jesus as he is revealed in the Bible.

Leading and Growing Ministry Teams

Rowan Hilsden

Leading and growing ministry teams is key to growing healthy churches and planting new churches. This is a practical seminar for team leaders from any ministry context, big or small, on how to lead and grow teams for kingdom growth – Model, Assist, Watch, Launch & Leave.

Avoiding Burnout

Zack Eswine

How do we make sure that we last the distance in ministry? Achieving a balanced approach to ministry is not always easy, and each year the expectations and responsibilities seem to just pile onto anyone in ministry. Whether it is preaching, care of members, leading youth, leading worship or even doing children’s ministry, the pressure seems to grow. In this seminar, Zack will talk us through biblical principals plus his own learnings in over 25-years of ministry about busyness, rest and balance in Christian ministry.

APPRENTICESHIP CHALLENGE CONFERENCE

Friday 28 August | 9am – 4.30pm

On Friday we invite potential apprentices to join our Challenge Conference, and trainers who are considering offering an apprenticeship in their churches. If you’re interested in starting an apprenticeship in the next year to two, this training intensive is for you.

Register and bring people along to the Challenge Conference, and the Advance: Raised Forever together. Over the course of both the Challenge Conference and the Advance Conference, people who are considering starting an apprenticeship will get a taste of what these apprenticeships are like, and the value of being equipped for a lifetime of ministry.

Pray also for me, that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should.
